A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Spring Makes Me Think Of New Life!

So this giveaway is all about this kiddos. But if you don’t have kids, you could still enter and get vinyl labels and a bag tag for yourself! We are giving away a free set of square vinyl labels and a set of bag tags. Bag tags come in sets of two (same design/text on each one) and vinyl labels come in a pack of 20.

Why do we love vinyl labels? Well they are water resistant! You can put them on sippy cups, bottles, lunch boxes, and run them through the dishwasher. They are great! I have my own personal labels that I put on all of my tupperware and carrying dishes. That way if I ever leave them somewhere….people will know who they belong to! But probably if they didn’t have my name on them, people wouldn’t guess me at all because well….the cooking….it’s not my strength.

Bag tags are great for the little ones diaper bags or back packs. They also work great for luggage tags.

Now this bag tag is a poor attempt to recreate one on the computer without a “real” picture of one. But you can get a much better idea at www.loopdelou.com.

What Do You Think?

So has anyone heard that our economy is struggling?

I wasn’t sure if that was “public knowledge” yet. Or if we’re just “in the know” at LDL. Our business is very important you know. It would be comparable to GM if we went under. I’m not sure how I could live without my multi-million dollar bonuses. I guess I would find a way.

Anyway….it is difficult in this economy to sell something like paper. Our products are cute (it’s possible we are bias on that!), but they are not a necessity. With the social networking industry booming, it seems that sending a hand written card is something of the past. Instant communication through texting, email and facebook statuses, let people know where you are and what your are doing at all times.

While I’m a big fan of the texting and the facebooking, I wonder if we have lost something special in the midst of this digital world. Have we lost the joy in sending and receiving mail. I’m not sure about you, but I sure do love getting something besides bills in my mailbox! But then I know I am part of this issue also, because I do love to get on facebook! And my favorite is to post pictures of my little boy and have people talk about how cute he is!

So it makes me wonder….what do you, our loyal Loop De Lou customers think? In this age of tightening our purse strings, what do we need to do to sell more products? I figure instead of sitting around in a meeting, trying to figure out this question…..we go directly to the consumer….that would be you! We would love your feedback on the issue and also love to hear stories of how the economy is affecting you. That way we could send you a note of encouragement!

A Give Away is Coming, A Give Away is Coming

Did that title make you think of Paul Revier?

Anyway….we are doing our very first blog give away! Now, if you have been a fan of LDL for awhile, you know that we particitpated in some give aways on another blog site. We had tremendous success with that, and now that we have our very own (functional) blog…we decided we could do our own.

We are spreading the word through a little social network called facebook. Not sure if you’ve ever heard of it before….it’s up and coming. But please feel free to tell all your friends (real life and facebook) about our blog. (oh and also the FREE stuff).

The give away will take place THIS FRIDAY! The post on friday will have all the rules and regulations and blah blah blah. Not that there will be many rules because we’ve never really liked to play by them. You know, that last statement is false…..all of us here at LDL are rule followers. As “bad” as we would like to appear, it’s just not true. We couldn’t be rule breakers if we tried.

We’re Back in Action!

Well, if you are reading this, chances are you are a Loop De Lou fan. And chances are, we love you because you are a Loop De Lou fan. So hello! And thanks for checking in with us. We have been gone quite some time.

This is our new blog! It’s very exciting because now you can leave comments. So please leave comments. Our blog would be so sad without them. It would be like leaving the house without your earrings. And you know how that feels.

We want to use this blog to preview some new things with our business and also as a place to host special give aways. So you might want to subscribe to this blog, not only for the fine literary content you are sure to witness, but also for the free stuff. Ok, I guess mainly for the free stuff.

Loop De Lou is undergoing some changes this year. We are very excited about this revamp. We are coming out with one catalog that is small and portable. Now, if you’ve been to a LDL party before, you know that nothing about our previous books were small. They are large, hard to transport and a little overwhelming. So we came up with a solution: simplify. Simplify is our goal for 2009. We are picking our most favorite designs (and creating new ones!) and putting them all together in one place. Our sales reps will be so happy!

The new catalog is scheduled to make it’s appearance “pre-holiday”. So in other words, end of August. Anything not featured in our catalogs will still be available online, unless we discontinued the design. Which we are doing a lot of. Because you wouldn’t still tight roll your jeans today, things change….we have to keep up with the trends!
